I’ve been a part of the pastoral staff since 1987 and am currently carrying the title Pastor of Congregational Care.  My primary role is supportive care including pastoral hospital and home visitation as well as support in grief. The things that get me up in the morning and sustain me in ministry at Door Creek are teaching and mentoring men to ground them in thinking, knowing and living the Word of God and the essentials of the faith.

Besides the Bible, I wish I could persuade everyone in the church to read The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name, by Sally Lloyd-Jones.  It tells the storyline of the Bible, showing how the whole Bible is about Jesus and God’s redemptive plan for the world.  Each story is a reminder of God’s never-ending, relentless love for us in keeping His promise to send His Son.  It has made me profoundly grateful for my Rescuer.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my wife Ruth for 46 years.  We have three adult sons and eight wonderful grandchildren. Also, I’m a Buckeye (as in Ohio State) by birth, but I’m a Badger by choice.
