Door Creek Church Children's Ministry exists to intentionally assist the family in each child's spiritual development, encouraging the formation of a lifelong relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We welcome all children, including those with special needs and other challenges, whether they are physical, neurological, behavorial or emotional. Our growing special needs program, OPEN ARMS, focuses on assisting parents and DCC Children's Ministry Volunteers with teaching children with special needs the Gospel of Jesus Christ by: - creating a comfortable environment by making reasonable accommodations
- offering customized and creative methods of instruction
- providing support to families through prayer, listening, and problem-solving
Visiting children are welcome at DCC and we want to do what we can to help them and you feel welcomed and comfortable; so we ask that you be prepared to confidentially share with our volunteers your child's challenges and strengths as well as advise us how we best relate to him or her.
For our regular attendees and members, we offer the services of a guide, shadow or mentor, the difference between the three being the level of support provided. A pager is also available for the parents' use upon request. Please contact Pastor Wayne at wayne@doorcreekchurch.org if you would like to know how you or a child can become involved in this ministry. |
