Spring Forward on Saturday night!
Daylight Savings begins this weekend.
At Door Creek Church, we believe that home groups are the best place for people to connect and "do life together".
They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke bread and prayed together. Acts 2:42
We believe one of the greatest
blessings in life is community. God built us for relationships both with Him and with others. Our daily lives reflect God most when we are in a close relationship with Him.
God also designed us to live in relationship with other people. We find joy in life when we live in an authentic community, where people are real and honest about who they are and where they come from. Everyone faces hardships and celebrations, and there is nothing like having a supportive group of friends to walk with through life.
Practically speaking, there is not a way for the staff to personally minister to everyone who attends Door Creek Church. That's why we place such a high premium on home groups. It's how we minister effectively to each other at Door Creek Church.
What is the format for Home Groups?
Home groups are ideally made up of six to eight individuals or five to six married couples who meet in someone's home for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and accountability. This is where significant life change takes place. Home groups are the place real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment to celebrate the successes and good times of life and comfort one another in the tough and disappointing times. Home Groups encourage us, equip us, and challenge us to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Each home group decides when and where it wants to meet. Most groups meet weekly or bi-weekly. As individuals seek to join a home group, we help them find people that are meeting on a particular night and in a certain area of the city. Most of our home groups meet in group members' homes.
