Living Water Update
The seeds of your generosity during the Advent Conspiracy are beginning to blossom in Africa!
We believe God wants each of us to be generous and joyful servants and givers. These are two distinctives of Door Creek Church. Both require our hearts, our relationships, our time, our finances. We encourage and challenge you to serve and give as part of your spiritual worship, out of love for God and His kingdom. Here is how you can do both.

Why Give Back to God?
Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our time and finances is part of our worship. A believer labors not to accrue personal wealth or possessions, but to steward God's resources well and model Jesus to our brothers, sisters, and community. Giving reflects a grateful heart that wants to give back to God. No one should feel compelled to give - "not reluctantly or under compulsion." We encourage joyful giving.
Giving is a Reflection of the Heart
Matthew 6:19-21 says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where you treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Your gifts to the church help us all further essential, successful work through Door Creek. From children and student ministries, to missions, to local benevolence needs, to facilities and staff support, your gifts do make a difference.
Giving is a priviledge
The first century church modeled for us what it means to give generously and joyfully so that more and more people could find their way back to God.
2 Corinthians 8:2-4,7 says, "Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints… Just as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in your love for others – see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
Learn how
There is a tremendous void for most of us today: we need education and motivation in order to manage 'our' finances according to God's principles and to avoid the seductive pull of the materialistic culture we live in. Good Sense is a free class designed to help you learn and follow biblical principles to manage your money so it doesn't manage you. For information on the next class, contact the church office at 608-222-8586.
