Missions: Chinese ChildrenThere are more than 143 million orphaned children in the world today.  The mission of Fields of Hope is to increase awareness and involvement of the church to share Christ’s love by caring for abandoned, orphaned, and at-risk children both locally and globally.  We want to reach out across the city and around the world to help some of these children and show them how unconditional love can look and feel.

The focus areas of this ministry include international orphan care, adoption awareness and support, and foster care awareness and support.  There is so much need for children to be cared for and loved.  We can share the love of Christ with these children and bring happiness to them they have never experienced before.

God has led us to an opportunity to partner with VisionTrust, an organization that helps churches begin orphan ministries and connects them with projects they have started in different areas of the world. VisionTrust has come alongside a Christian national in Cruz Blanca, Guatemala to help orphaned and at-risk children in this area by starting an after school program to reach the children of this community.  They teach these children God’s word, supply them with food, clean water, medical attention if needed and tutoring. Since DCC already has built relationships with so many people in Guatemala, we felt God was pointing us in this direction. Plus, Door Creek supports missionary Casey Scheberl who grew up at Door Creek and is on staff with VisionTrust.

As Tom Davis said in his book Fields of the Fatherless,Missions: African Girls “God gave the responsibility to care for the defenseless to those claiming to be followers of Christ.  It is through our hands the Father’s love comes, it is through our voices His voice is heard, it is through our efforts and those of the church that His care is revealed to the ones the rest of the world has forgotten.”  Join us in fulfilling what God has in store for this ministry to help children in our community and around the world.  If you would like to share in the growth of this ministry or have more questions please email
