My family and I moved to Madison in January of 2004. To take job at DCC? On most Sunday mornings, you’ll find me hosting the Video Café services. I serve on the Teaching Team as well. I originally came to Door Creek in 2004 as the Student Ministries Pastor, and in 2011, moved to Associate Pastor. I’m currently serving overseeing family, care and worship ministries of the Church. I believe the Church has a pivotal role in equipping marriages and families to live out their mission. I also have a passion to teach…I would rather teach, than eat, and I love to eat. It gets me out of the bed in the morning to know I’m part of what God’s doing here at DCC. One thing I want everyone to know about DCC is that it’s a safe place to ask questions regarding faith, wrestle with doubts and discover all that God has planned for you.
I grew up in heaven, I mean Iowa. Iowa is God country. Sorry Badger fans, I live and breathe Iowa Hawkeye sports! I received a BA in Christian Education from Moody Bible Institute and have previously served a couple of different churches in student ministries, one in western Kansas, and the other in Eastern, Kansas, Overland Park.
I met and fell in love with my wife Crystal while we were going to school together in Chicago. Our first date was a plane ride over the Chicago skyline…it’s been hard to top that date. We were married in 1996 and have three daughters, Kirsten, Morgan and Paige as well as a Siberian Husky, Brodi. Otherwise, I enjoy camping, hiking and mountain biking. My true passion is soccer. I played throughout high school and college, and I currently play on a men’s team. I believe that leaders are readers, so I try to read daily. I read scripture, blogs, books, articles, things I agree with and things I don’t’ agree with. I enjoy big picture dreaming and planning. I love risk, adventure and being told I can’t do something!
