Lori and I have been at Door Creek Church since 2006. My primary role is to lead Door Creek in pursuing our mission of changing people into devoted followers of Christ to change the world with His love. At DCC we are passionate about reaching people who don't know Christ and growing those who do. What I like best about my job is serving alongside a great staff and congregation and regularly studying and teaching God’s Word. I grew up in Evanston, Illinois. I received a BA in Biblical Studies at Bethel, an MDiv from Trinity, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I spent 23 years serving as a pastor at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois. I’ve been married to my wife, Lori, since 1981. We have five children (Laura/John, Bridget, Claire, Peter and Luke) and two dogs; a chocolate lab mix and a Cairn Terrier. I enjoy hanging with my family, most sports, and working with my hands. I still find myself rooting for Chicago sports teams, but have whole-heartedly embraced the Badgers. In 2003, while Lori was going through breast cancer, I preached a series on the storms of life that was later published under the title "God in the Storms". |
