Description: 1-4 hours weekly based on availability. Work assignment based on interest, including, not limited to, wastebaskets, room set up, vacuuming, rest room and office cleaning.

Grounds Care - Flower Bed Ministry
Description: Provide weekly care as needed to assigned flower bed, weeding, watering, pruning & transplanting. In Spring plant new flowers as provided, in Fall cleanup of dead plants as required to make bed neat & clean.
Spiritual Gifts: Helps
Skills needed: Love of flowers & desire to create things of beauty. Some carrying of water or hoses may be necessary. Experience helpful.

Grounds Care Mower Operator
Description: Mow assigned area using Great Dane riding mower, push mower. Mow assigned area in a neat manner & return mower to shed. Refill gas tank & clean equipment as needed, lock shed, report any problems.
Spiritual Gifts: Helps
Skills Needed: Must be at least 16 years old to operate the riding mower.
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours every one to two weeks depending on grass growth.

Description: Oversee all aspects of Grounds Care Ministry including, but not limited to, lawn mowing, seeding, fertilizing, and tree care. Work closely with Pond & Flower Bed Ministries to coordinate efforts creating a pleasing, beautiful appearance to DCC landscaping.
Spiritual Gifts: Administration - Helps - Encouragement
Skills Needed: Have a general overall interest in landscaping, supervising and lead other volunteers.
Time and Place: About an hour weekly during growing season, less in winter. Experience helpful.

Prairie and Pond Volunteer
Description: Work under the direction of Prairie & Pond Supervisor(s) to create a natural prairie surrounding pond, to enhance beauty of the grounds. Work includes collecting seed and distribution, trash collection, tree planting, annual burns, selective weed control, & erosion control.

Skills Needed: Prairie & Pond Supervisor(s) will train
Time and Place: Several hours a month, during growing season

Snow Team Volunteer
Description: Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, parking lot steps, and key parking lot areas in timely fashion to provide safe walking for guests.

Skills Needed: Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions. Good physical condition. Operate motorized and hand equipment.
Time and Place: Based on time of snowfall - varies.

Tree Care Volunteer
Description: Maintain all Door Creek Trees in a healthy condition & make recommendations to the Director of Operations regarding any significant problems. Prune dead or low hanging limbs, oversee required mulching, planting & watering of any new trees during year.

Skills Needed: Experience with trees preferred, but will train.
Time and Place: DCC Lawn Care, volunteer availability.
