Spring Forward on Saturday night!
Daylight Savings begins this weekend.
All of us who call Door Creek our church home have been in your shoes at one time -- wondering what type of church this is. You may be curious about what a worship service is like. Will I be welcomed? Will I fit in? What children or student programs do we offer? We're glad you're curious!
You can begin by clicking on the video below to follow Marc, our Senior Pastor, on a walk-through of what to expect when you visit ...
Good question - but you won't know unless you visit with us. When you do visit, you can expect a casual, friendly, and vibrant atmosphere.
Our worship engages the heart and head with music, drama, readings and a relevant message from the Bible. Afterwards, you can check out Door Creek in 5 to learn all you need to know about the church.
People here like to hang around after the services. So find your way to the coffee counter and grab a cup of coffee (or other treats) with hundreds of others as a way of connecting with new and old friends.
We hope you'll take the time to visit with us. We want to make your visit to Door Creek as enjoyable and non-threatening as possible. No one will call or visit you unless you would like them to. So come on in and "kick our tires" and see if you fit in. You have nothing to lose and possibly a lot to gain.
By most standards, Door Creek would be considered a large church. But being a large church doesn't mean you can't develop meaningful friendships or that your time and talents are not needed.
In fact, the best ways to get connected at Door Creek are through...
If you are visiting Door Creek Church for the first time or have visited us several times, we are glad you came to "check us out." Our desire is to make your visit as comfortable and positive as possible and not throw you any surprises.
Worship services are a time for us to come together, meet our God and learn about him. We do this through biblically based contemporary music, media, stories of grace, drama, and message. Read more about worship at Door Creek here.
We would love to personally meet you on your first visit, so be sure to stop by our Information Desk when you arrive. You will receive helpful information about our church and get more of your questions answered.
When should I arrive?
The first time you visit plan to arrive 15 minutes early (20 if you have children). This will give you time to park, drop off the kids if you desire, stop by our Information Center and find a comfortable place to sit in either of our worship venues. We hold services in both our Auditorium and our Video Cafe venues. Worship services are at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday (Auditorium only) and 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday in both our 700 seat Auditorium or 250 seat Video Cafe. Childcare is provided from birth to Grade five.
Where should I park?
Good News! There are designated parking spaces reserved just for you, our guest! These spaces are located near the front doors. Signs, or a friendly parking lot attendant, will direct you.
What should I wear?
Be yourself! If you are more comfortable meeting God in blue jeans or shorts, feel free to wear them. If a suit and tie help you to worship God, then please wear that. We are much more interested in you connecting with God and us, then we are in what you wear.
Because we love kids and believe they matter to God, we are committed to partnering with parents to help each child come to know, love and follow Jesus.
To this end, we offer various ministry environments for children birth-grade 5. Each ministry is provided by teams of screened and trained volunteers who love kids and want to make an difference in their lives. You can learn more about each ministry in the links on this page.
Am I expected to give when the offering plate goes by?
No! In fact we do not take an offering during the service. Offering boxes are located in the atrium so you may give (if you wish) when you are ready. The offering is a form of worship for our regular attenders. We hope that on your first visit to Door Creek you will be receiving from us, not the other way around.
Will I have to wear a name tag or be recognized as a guest at your service?
No way! We want you to be relaxed and comfortable in our services and you will never be singled out.
What is Door Creek Church in Five?
Immediately following each service there will be someone standing to one side of the Auditorium near the Welcome Banner. Guests are welcome to stop and talk for a few minutes, get questions answered about the church and receive a free gift bag.
Can I get some refreshments?
You are welcome to bring coffee, soft drinks and water into the service. Coffee is available in the Atrium and in the Video Cafe before and between services on Sunday mornings. If you're joining us for the 5:30 pm service on Saturday, please stay for dinner after the service! We serve a nice dinner on Saturday nights, during the school year, for a small donation. The majority of people stay and enjoy food and fellowship in the Activity Center.
What kind of message can I expect?
Each message is meant for us to better understand the Bible and our relationship to God in a way that is relevant to our everyday life. The messages are available for you to listen to on our website, or you may purchase a copy on CD at our Resource Desk for $2.00. Listen to a message here.
How accessible and welcoming are you to those with disabilities?
Very! Many of us have physical, cognitive and other challenges that can make it doubly challenging to visit a new place of worship. We want to make your visit as easy as possible. Please stop at the Information Desk for details on any of the following:
